This project delves into the narrative of women community in the Chaoshan area of my hometown. Inspired by the persistent patriarchal norms and the subtle societal pressure on women to produce male offspring, it takes the form of a satirical zine. Crafted with wit and irony, it humorously navigates the reader through the ancient practice of conceiving baby boys. This whimsical creation compiles a wealth of traditional recipes and folk remedies, covering topics such as pre-pregnancy preparations, dietary choices, home feng shui, and interpreting signs of pregnancy.
